What the Nigerian government is trying to do is desperation.

this is really getting on my nerves.

because we are experiencing similar problems in my own country.

At every opportunity, governments try to put a barrier in front of freedom of thought.

this is pathetic

I'm so angry

-Who are you to restrict my freedom?

This world has always been damaged by thinking, thinking people, ideas, and those who are afraid.

Look in history how many intellectuals have lost their lives for this.

Giordano Bruno

just one of them

we, especially people living in underdeveloped countries, continue to fight for our freedom at all times. and we will.

Everyone needs to see this and raise this struggle.

So what's going on in Nigeria now isn't just the people's problem there.

our common problem

This is how we should see it, understand it, and react to it.

thank you for the great article

and forgive me for my bad english

This just shows how government has too much power and influence over its people.

Government needs to be smaller and the people need the tools to make decisions not just a group of(sometimes) elected government officials. Blockchain is that tool that can give people back their voice.....Blockchain is for the people!

There will always be people that want to speak freely and openly no matter the state of technology. Technology doesn't give me a voice ( it allows it to travel far and wide).

Yesterday i saw a post where it was Written that An Indian Rapper Started Taking his payment in Bitcoin and he stated that he admires blockchain Technology and seeks great potential for it and We are also seeing many artist coming front and Starting to take Bitcoin or Any Other Crypto as their fees or Payment.

Why did i say this : I just wanna show that slowly whole world is getting to know about blockchain and its power. There was a time when only few people knew about it and only 50% of them Trusted on Crypto but now we are seeing many people and Some Countries accepting Bitcoin As a Legal Payment and There will be a time when Whole world will get to know about the power of Blockchain and BTC

I can't believe Nigerians are living in a Democracy. Its time to wake up Peeps Show Your voice and power to the Government

İ read this writing. First thanks Rony Roy. İ need talk about bans. İ live in Turkey . When i was a student i couldnt get into Wikipedia. Yes Wikipedia. Why? İt just got a ban like Youtube. Now we can enter Wikipedia or Youtube but when came bans we need use vpn. I am nervous about this power of government. I don't want to be nervous about some things being banned when I wake up. İ think blockchain fix my problem or not just mine problem. İ guess the problem all of us. So blockchain will fix the problem. At least i believe. İ hope one day we are all free with blockchain.

People in countries with authoritarian regimes are very clever, blockchain technology will enable them to get past all restrictions and regain some freedom.

Free Speech should not be messed with. These leaders are scum and should be wiped off the face of the earth, like the rest of thebtirants that came before them. The internet is here to stay and that is something these tyrants are going to have to take away to limit free speech for anybody.

The financial freedom of the people has always been an obstacle for such states. Just like my country, they want its people to be content with little, not fulfill their dreams, keep the money inside and the state feed them, but they are wrong, the biggest example of this is our Nigerian friends. The biggest feature that distinguishes humans from animals is that we have the power of thinking and strong communication, which cannot be prevented. No one can win against them, they can ban everything, but there is never an obstacle for people who always take their thoughts forward, I think we should help our Nigerian friends in this process. As long as there is technology, people will always be united and win.

I didn’t know what is happening in Nigeria. I’m glad that the Blockchain can be really useful under this circumstances and just keep (or start) being free.

Hopefully they keep developing and fighting agains what’s happening right now.

Great article and this is the better resume "moving forward, blockchain technology is also likely to play a role in the fight against censorship." I hope we can see more freedom!

That's why I love crypto. Crypto is that people are free. It is almost a stance against oppression for me. Nigeria is the biggest example of this. Nigeria is the leading country in the crypto market. People have always found a solution, as in the case of China, they have continued this trade by using vpn and they have driven away the pressure against their financial freedom. This is proving to the world that crypto is something that cannot be banned.

I do not understand why cryptocurrencies, which many states have not seen as a problem until now, have become such a big problem recently. If it is money laundering illegally, it would be foolish to think that it will only be done with crypto money. In fact, their problem is to control people under the name of "crypto money" and make it legal. Leave people alone. Let everyone do their financial transactions freely. Don't let the age burn next to the dry.

The only time an actual ban on a platform to stifle voices really works is when the government has complete control of the networks like China has over its citizens. Until then Twitter users in Nigeria will just use VPN or another platform in order to communicate with each other and have their voices heard. This is not a good look for Nigeria and its government.

Thanks for the informative read. Its distressing to think that a government would want to limit its citizens and their freedom of speech like this.

No matter how much they ban it, they can't beat the power of the internet and blockchain.
