I wonder how much underground mining is still taking place in China?

The same principle applies to them, in that they have no interest letting America or Russia become dominate.

Good read. Thanks once again. Russia mining bitcoin and being the third largest bitcoin mining country says that bitcoin is not going anywhere. All of this information is both informative and an eye opener. It's just a matter of time before bitcoin is at its ath again and beyond. For Russia to ban bitcoin and crypto would be a big mistake. With the exchanges delisting China, I'm sure a few of us out there thought that bitcoin would just go up from there, but I was wrong in my thinking. Seems that bitcoin is here to stay for good, and what a good thing that is. It is definitely refreshing to not read about China dumping bitcoin every month. To me they were just playing games with people's investments, and I for one am glad to not see this happening. I'm just going to keep on buying bitcoin and holding on for the future of my children, and loved ones. After all the future is coming at an alarming rate, and it's not slowing down. Once we get 50% of Americans on board, boom 💥 I can't wait to see where my investment lands in the next 5 years. I'm no fortune teller in any sense but I do know one thing and that is bitcoin is here, and it is here to stay.

Thank You for an amazing article. Keep up the great work. Writer has become fast my favorite place to read the articles on crypto. And will continue that way for a very, very long time to come. Peace to all

This article just shows how stupid the argument about energy useage for Bitcoin creation is.

In my mind the whole argument/discussion is just to distract people away from all the good things that Bitcoin is capable of

Some great storytelling and background there. ‘Pragmatism seems once again to prevail, as always with Bitcoin.’ Putin is many things but he does not seem to be a fool. So look as BTC and blockchain tech look to be a strategic advantage, he is very much incentivized to keep as much innovation in that space as possible within Russia. Now, if there is a larger competing interest or the strategic advantage diminishes, I think we could see things change quickly.

This is a very complicated issue. It is impossible to understand how the heads of state think. But there's something I know. If bitcoin is going to have a financial market (which I think it will), it won't be without a little notice. It will be like a revolution. And the states will also have to get a place for themselves.

Because the first-comer will be advantageous. The reason for defending the blockchain is not money or profit. Blockchain is a great system. Even if they don't like bitcoin, they need to update their old systems.

Thanks for the nice article.

Russia and China have a singular interest in their policies, both the on-the-books ones and the unstated.

The short of it, the entire notion of decentralization and most of all use of cryptocurrencies play to the autocrats, kleptocrats and totalitarians of the world. After all, the current world financial system and reserve currency of the world are run by western liberal democracies. If you promote the nonsense about decentralization/crypto, you have to be dead, intellectually incapacitated, morally deficient, or well-paid enough by the space to put your morals where your money comes from.

That is the short hard truth. Embrace or reject. Up to you.
