Matthew Hickey of Hacker House recently announced the sale of "an exclusive HackerFantastic authored 0day exploit as part of our NFT proof-of-concept sale series" on Twitter. The exploit itself related to the game Quake3, and was described as "an interesting and intriguing computer security bug that results in denial-of-service of a widely used network game engine.
Liked the insight on the this. Didn‘t see the news on this until a couple days ago and was baffled.
It raises a lot of questions how to handle these kind of minted NFTs, like you mentioned. And tbh it‘s not an easy call.
There are a couple aspects to keep in mind, ethically, legally etc. and the whole point behind minting an NFT on the blockchain.
I followed the Rug incident and it made me look more into IPFS and how to validate and secure mints, especially if one would do it on opensea and their shared contracts.
I am happy that WAX seems to have solved that issue by their approach with IPFS directly.
