That's how we contribute to Bitcoin. It's funny how people compare. US dollars and bitcoin. More to be done, there is a way.

"From the moment you run your full node on the Bitcoin network, you will be able to verify everything yourself without having to take anyone's word for it. This is a fundamental difference from the current monetary and financial system where you have to blindly believe the powerful people who run it."

I often wonder whether crypto people really have a grasp of the real world. This piece is yet another simple example of why the space just seems full of grifters.

Bitcoin (strange that I have to write such sentence) is not a "monetary and financial system". Nor will it ever be. But the ideology and the promoters and scammers that swarm and largely control the narratives in the crypto world really rely on the ignorance or gullibility of others to just accept such absurd statements.

There are so many ways to make it clear without actually going into detail how damaging such assertions are. The simplest is to ask: when the economy (yes, a vast complex of huge numbers of participants interconnected in many ways, most of all through governance) tanks, will Bitcoin step in and pay you when you've lost your job? Will it suspend rent and eviction laws? Will it come together and incent the creation and distribution of vaccines during a pandemic? Will it build your roads and support a healthcare system?

No. It does none of these things. It's just a gambler's token and a set of beliefs that are patently absurd to anyone who what a monetary and financial system are.

Put your belief and efforts into clean and accountable governance. Not this silliness.
