The fact that the works of the artists did not cost much while they were alive changes the situation after their death. Many artists sell their work cheaply to make a living, or in some cases use it to pay off debts to local shopkeepers. In this case, people who own original works double their profit margin by 5 or 10 times.
NFT, on the other hand, offers artists a way out. Blockchain, with its decentralized structure, ensures that the works are accessible to everyone, while NFT preserves the originality of the works.
People are influenced by these and turn to NFTs for profit.
How is this not just a fad? I mean, what does one do with a virtual artwork other than to trade it? And what is that "quality" people see in an NFT, do they think that because it is created by an artist it is special? Grab a paintbrush!
Easiest ponzi scheme ever. Too funny. Good way to flex though, "Look at me, I'm so filthy rich I can flush a million bucks down the toilet just to prove it ".
Ohh man NFts, where do I start. NFTs has been a God send for me and I'm sure alot of other people in the space. I seen so many lives changes from this industry since I have joined in summer of 2020 and started to learn about nfts, I fell in love with the idea Instantly. The first nft that I received was gifted to me, it was a GPK card and I was hooked. I started mining alien worlds for free right around Christmas of 2020 and since it was free I gave it a go. I'm glad that I did. However I was not able to purchase any lands, which to this day is my biggest regret, but TLM has been good to me and my family since. I'm still mining until this day. Nfts are here to stay and I'm glad I have invested. Although I'm still a way aways from being financially secure, I believe one day nfts will help make that happen. Long live writer and NFTs..... Peace to all of you guys and gals grinding in this space to bring us the content that we seek. Peace and Love
This was my main argument as well. Its like making a DVD "one of a kind" and selling it for $1M while your friend just borrowed the copy and duplicated the movie and shipped it to a thousand sources for $1000 each. Great it has a digital signature but when you can duplicate an NFT(without a digi signature), are the people you're showing it to going to dig deep into the coding? Highly doubtful. My problem is an NFT in most cases is the copy of the original anyways so its like buying a digital picture of "The Mona Lisa" while some guy has used an iphone on ultra high resolution and sold copies of it on photo print for the same cost you bought the NFT Mona Lisa. It just doesnt have blockchain coding
Yeah someone can make copies of the Mona Lisa, but only one person can truely own the real one. An NFT registers that. U see?
Another eg, I could buy a special edition Channel bag, or any Channel bag for that matter, Is it real? An NFT could and will show it is. It could show where it was purchased, who the original purchaser was ect.
Millennials buy the darnedest things. All the fancy words and vagaries do not make NFTs more valuable. Just as crypto's are Emperor's New Clothes, so are NFTs. A fool and his money soon go separate ways.
Bogus sales of NFTs were meant to fool the public into believing people would pay extravagant amounts for money an NFT.
I believe many of the Dutch people who committed suicide during the Tulip Mania Crash, have been reincarnated as millennials who are still chasing Tulips.
We're just starting to see the possibilities that NFTs bring us. The music industry is going to be revolutionized by NFTs and artists are going to be in full control of their creations. These are very exciting times.
and then in one fell swoop someone has a recording device and puts the songs on the internet and BAM anyone can listen for free while the suckers who bought the NFT threw money at something that couldnt be contained(unless we become a controlled society like some countries that can only see the propaganda side of the internet)
What happens to the money? Like is the nft worth a certain amount based on other nft's or is it just worth what someone is willing to pay for it? Money goes to sellers bank account?

Thanks for the article.

I can just screenshot them, why would I need to spend so much money on them?

NFT’s could work in so many ways.
But if you can make an exact copy of the mona lisa no one's going to care about the original. Digital files can be perfectly replicated.

And then someone changes a single bit in the file and manages to make an NFT out of it. Or they use a different block chain.
