There is always more to art than what is experienced. There is the artist that created it; there is the perspective of the audience; there is the discussion that is evoked by the work. Behind the Pixel aims to tell a more complete story about the artist, the art and the influences that helped create the work.

Man, I love what Cryptowriter is doing with NFTs. If you would have asked me two months ago I would have said NFTs are a waste of time. I had no idea... until I found that writer membership card and Finney Promo cards sitting in my inventory... and down the rabbit hole I went!
Fell in love with the 1st Yusaymon Behind The Pixel drop! I think I was probably awake for 24hrs at the time of the first BTP auction, waiting for the auction to come to an end so I could bid at the last minute and take those number #1's. I don't know what happened, but next thing I know I'm waking up and the auction is over 😭😭😭. Thankfully I was able to find a #2 on the market a few days ago 😍 and picked that bad boy up.
Looking forward to this and all of the future Cryptowriter NFT series, I know they will be a success! Finney is so cool! ✌

I hope to eventually become a member. However, even if I don't receive membership, it doesn't matter! I have written and read more since I found cryptowriter than I did for far to long before, and I am so very thankful for that.

I’m personally not one, but if I were I would be applying as soon as possible. Crypto Writer truly takes care of the ones creating their content and supports them constantly (this was showed by the finney auctions that make a profit for the artist). Good luck for the ones trying !
Is this the first time CryptoWriter has asked for artist applications? I'm curious as to how many end up applying. Will you update us on the number of submissions at some point?
Behind the Pixel is basically Cryptowriter’s art curation layer. Because it’s a product we built from scratch, we (Joe) had to go out and make connections and sell artists on the Behind the Pixel airdrop model. This type of work takes a ton of energy and time but we are confident that we have developed a sustainable model in providing a valuable service to the artist. Once we do the first couple drops we expect an uptick in interest and want to be prepared for onboarding. We may causally update you on number submissions at some point but our focus will always be quality vs quantity.
Quality vs quantity is the definitely the way to go. I'm just hopeful the project gains interest now and over time which is why I was curious about the amount of submissions you receive. If you have a ton of submissions, I hope you are comfortable in rejecting ones that you think won't work well or add value to Behind the Pixel and the Cyrptowriter community.
This is the first time we've began opening it up to the public. We've been working hard to recruit artists we feel deserve to be recognized for their talent. The goal is to be overwhelmed with other great talent so that we can keep growing.
Cryptowriter is, again, ahead of the curve with "Behind the Pixel" that not only spotlights artists from all around the world, but also rewards the artists in a compelling way. For too long, artists have been given the short end of the stick by opportunists looking to squeeze every dollar out of them. With the airdrop model, artists will perpetually be rewarded for the craft that they have spent their whole lives building on and, in a unique twist, also own and be exposed to the artwork of their peers. I wouldn't be surprised to see many beautiful collaborations come out of "Behind the Pixel" artists down the line, which would just further bond the Cryptowriter community together. I love that artists receive Cryptowriter Memberships and are welcomed into the family with open arms; it's far different than just having an artist commission a piece and parting ways with a business handshake. Kudos to the team again for finding a sustainable reward model and investing in the community in a big way when many other projects in the space are looking for the quickest ways to line their pockets as priorities A through Z. Proud to be a member of this community!
This is the goal. It's strange being on this side of things watching people come into the community and then staying, becoming recognizable by their names, then becoming friends. It's really amazing.
Oh man things are about to get so interesting! Very professional way to bring up and coming artists to the NFT space and get their name out there! I have a feeling that these membership cards will be worth Tens of Thousands in the near future! Imagine getting art from dozens or hundreds of artists as their getting their start to fame! I absolutely love the concept of cultivating true emotion and getting to know an artist from within. I'm in contact with 100s of artists every day as one of the project managers in the PizzaDAO and I see this as almost artist therapy in all seriousness.
